Frequently Asked Questions Here are answers to frequently asked questions about CSeNews... Who publishes the CSeNews eNewsletter and web site? CSeNews and its sister site www.csarizona.com are published and maintained by the Christian Science Joint Broadcast Committee, Inc., (CSJBC) of Metropolitan Phoenix - a non-profit Arizona corporation made up of representatives from nine of the Christian Science Branch Churches in the Phoenix metro area. For more information go to the About Us page. What is CSeNews's relationship to the Christian Science Church (The Mother Church)? CSeNews is not published by The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. However, CSeNews supports The Mother Church, its activities, Directors, Officers and members. Does CSeNews have anything to do with "The Mailing Fund" or other "dissident" groups? No, we don't. We focus on completely POSITIVE issues and activities. We do not foster the discussion of Church politics or question the role and function of Church leadership. Individuals and groups can have differences and we respect them, but this site and newsletter is NOT the forum for them. What is the CSeNews Mission Statement? Short and sweet: "Building Community and Cooperation Through Communication". We love you all!!! Where does the money go from advertising on, and donations to CSeNews? Revenue generated by CSeNews goes to support the activities of the CSJBC. For a list of these activities click here. All activities of the CSJBC including CSeNews are done through VOLUNTEERS. We have paid staff who update the websites as needed. How can I contribute to CSeNews? Donations are gratefully accepted. Checks and money orders (made to "CSJBC") should be mailed to: Christian Science Joint Broadcast
Committee, Inc. Can I contribute or pay for my advertising by credit card? Yes, we accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit card payments through Pay Pal. Click here to access our secure online form. Why don't the audio/video links on the web site work on my computer? You may not have the proper software loaded on your computer. Go to our "Downloads" page for links to free software necessary to listen/watch online programing. Does CSeNews sell or share its e-mail database? Absolutely NOT! In fact, we don't share our subscriber data base with ANYONE or ANY ORGANIZATION. We are very concerned about maintaining the privacy of our subscribers. Why are you doing this? Isn't the Mother Church web site and spirituality.com enough? This eNewsletter began out of the need to communicate with and between Christian Scientists in the Phoenix area. The CSeNews eNewsletter and web site have evolved to what they are today over a period of 10 years. Much of what you see was included from suggestions from our readers. New subscribers are joining our "family" every day and we receive thousands of visits to the content of our web site each month. What we offer is the sharing of information and resources from Branch Churches, members, non-members, Christian Science related organizations etc. all in one place. The Mother Church web site (www.tfccs.com) and spirituality.com are both wonderful sites with lots of information on them, but their focus and mission are different from ours. We value these other sites and gladly provide links to their resources. For example, our Calendar of events offers the reader a "snapshot" of ALL CS-related events in their local area - both "official" church sponsored events (such as Christian Science Lectures) as well as other Christian Science related events by organizations such as camps, schools and care facilities. Can Branch Churches and Reading Rooms subscribe to the eNewsletter too? You bet! We have individuals, churches, Reading Rooms, and organizations all as subscribers. I am a Christian Science nurse working toward my Journal-listing. Can I advertise in the C.S. Classifieds? No, we do not accept ads from non-Journal-listed Christian Science nurses. We are not an accrediting agency and must defer to the list of Christian Science nursed published in the Christian Science Journal. We suggest that you develop a good working relationship with one or more of the Christian Science Care Facilities around the world who may be happy to refer you on cases. We are happy that you are working toward the wonderful mankind-helping position of Journal-listed nurse, and wish you the best in reaching that accomplishment. Will you publish articles about Christian Science healing and testimonies of healing through Christian Science? No. Religious articles including testimonies should be directed to the Editors of the Christian Science periodicals published by the Christian Science Publishing Society. Do I have to subscribe to the eNewsletter to access the information contained in it? No, however, the eNewsletter is a great tool to access the content on the CSeNews web site. It directs you to the specific location of the content you are interested in. If you do not want to receive our monthly eNewsletter, you may still access all of the content of the web site whenever you wish. How often is the eNewsletter published? [Effective January 2003] the CSeNews eNewsletter is published monthly, on or about the first of the month. The web site content is updated daily as necessary and is available for your reference 24/7. |
