The Christian Science Society Reading Room has been in its present location since the Society opened in 1951. We have recently completed much needed renovations to the Church building and constructed our new Reading Room at the same location.

We are located at North Gate in College Station, Texas. This area of town is in the midst of everyday life for Texas A&M University students and local residents. Adequate free parking is always available for those who wish to visit the Reading Room or to attend church services. Several university dormitories are directly across the street. Bookstores, convenience stores, restaurants, and other commercial establishments are all close by. There are always people passing by our front door at all times of the day and night.
A small patio with overhanging oak trees, flower gardens and a weatherproofed deck are located at our back door as well as the spacious parking lot.

Our Reading Room consists of two large rooms. The front room serves as a sales and display area while the back room doubles as a quiet place to read and reflect and our Sunday School during church services. There are two carrels, one containing sets of books marked Weekly Bible Lessons, and the other providing access to Weekly Bible Lessons and
The Christian Science Monitor online. Several classes from the university and community groups have utilized our facilities for meetings. The Reading Room is jointly staffed by church members and students from the Christian Science Organization (CSO) on campus.
Our Reading Room includes all the bound volumes, bound editions of Journals and Sentinels, and our lending library. Current literature is always available to read, borrow or purchase. Recent editions of The Christian Science Monitor are also made available at nearby dormitories and restaurants. Our Reading Room also provides Monitors to retirement and nursing homes.
During the past year, our Reading Room has hosted guest lecturers and ecumenical discussions on spirituality.
All of our members and the Texas A&M University CSO have enjoyed working collaboratively through our Reading Room to make available the teachings of our Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, to the communities around us.
