Nestled in the heart of Burien, Washington, the Christian Science Reading Room here is located close to SeaTac Airport and they frequently see and hear from travelers. The volunteer staff always tries to introduce newcomers to Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. In fact, nine copies were sold just last month. Branch church members are able to buy extra copies at a reduced rate to share with others.

They also provide a supply of Science & Health to the Meditation Room in the airport terminal on an on-going basis, and give subscriptions to The Christian Science Monitor to four area schools.

The front windows have also drawn visitors into their door. A recent window display featured biographies on Mary Baker Eddy. If you stopped by today, you might read a few marked citations from the Weekly Bible Lesson. Those seeking deeper study of the Bible can participate in the Bible Discussion group on Wednesday from 6 to 7pm, look up passages in the full 12-volume set of The Interpreter’s Bible or a variety of other Bible references. Access to "Found Volumes" is available by phone from the jointly-maintained Reading Room in downtown Seattle, for easy reference to the complete set of Bound Volume periodicals on-site. While visiting this peaceful location, you can quietly read the Lesson from marked books, listen to a variety of CDs and tapes or access the Concord on computer.

In the sales area, along with the wide selection of merchandise, the Children’s Herald is displayed low on the shelf - within easy reach of little, inquisitive hands. Their biggest seller is the full text edition of the Weekly Bible Lesson. The Quarterly citation edition is purchased by some who are not members and who attend other churches. Finding new ways to share Christian Science and Science & Health with people in the community is an on-going project. Certainly what blesses one blesses all in Burien!
