Get to know Mary Baker Eddy

The Discover and Founder of Christian Science . . . Healer, Religious Reformer, Leader, Author, Publisher.

As the revelator of Truth to this age, Mary Baker Eddy holds a unique place in the record of Christian Science. "The revelator cannot be separated from the revelation." Insight into her life opens up a better understanding of the healing truths she discovered, tested, proved and labored to give to the world - for the blessing of all mankind.

In the Foreword of The First Church of Christ, Scientist and Miscellany, she writes:

"Strive it ever so hard, The Church of Christ, Scientist, can never do for its Leader what its Leader has done for this church; but its members can so protect their own thoughts that they are not unwittingly made to deprive their Leader of her rightful place as the revelator to this age of the immortal truths testified to by Jesus and the prophets."

In Mrs. Eddy’s Message to The Mother Church, 1901, she states:

"Finally, brethren, wait patiently on God; return blessing for cursing; be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good; be steadfast, abide and abound in faith, understanding, and good works; study the Bible and the textbook of our denomination; obey strictly the laws that be, and follow your Leader only so far as she follows Christ."
