Phoenix Phone Service Expanded

Everyone in the greater metro Phoenix area and beyond now has access to two CS programs and the Weekly Bible Lesson by phone:

  • Sentinel Radio at 602-200-7002
  • Heraldo de Ciencia Cristiana at 602-200-7003
  • The Weekly Bible Lesson at 602-222-6220

The new phone numbers for Sentinel and Heraldo programs were launched in March 2006, funded by the Christian Science Joint Broadcast Committee. The lines are updated weekly and are available to everyone in the 480, 602 and 623 area codes as local calls.

Many folks in surrounding communities are gaining first-time access to these programs. As a result, the new programs are expected to have an immediate impact, especially since some cities around
Phoenix do not receive the Sunday morning Sentinel Radio broadcasts due to low power and signal range.

The Weekly Bible Lesson phone line has increased in popularity since its launch in March 2001 when it initially received 5,700 calls. Five years later, the Weekly Bible Lesson line is logging over 7,000 calls per month! Publicity for the phone line included a mention during Sentinel Radio broadcasts, flyers, business cards and word-of-mouth.
As more people who have free long distance calling also become aware of the phone-in programs, a steady increase in the number of monthly callers is expected.

Houston and San Antonio committees have joined with Phoenix to share the Sentinel and Heraldo programs via phone with their communities.
