The Principle Foundation, an organization serving Christian Scientists, is redefining the term benevolence. As with most charitable organizations, they provide financial assistance to those in need. But the Foundation knows there's more to true benevolence than writing a check. That's why The Principle Foundation sees its role in our community as one of leadership.
The Foundation helps people from all over the country with a wide variety of needs. Each case is as unique as the individuals being helped, and each case is a unique opportunity for the Foundation to demonstrate its worth. When helping individuals, the Foundation begins by providing an atmosphere of calm, loving support. From this basis they can help Christian Scientists focus on their potential for tapping into the abundance provided by God. When focused on the community, the Foundation reaches out with seminars, conferences, and informal gatherings that use practical Biblical models to educate people on the meaning of true service, the benefits of organizational teamwork and handling finances.
Everything the Foundation does is centered on God's protection and abundance. These activities emanate from the Foundation's mission, "To uplift thought to realize God's control over every facet of our lives." With out this idea as the basis of their work, the Foundation wouldn't be truly serving the community. This way of working in, and for, the community truly blesses those involved and it also serves to uplift mankind. An example of how the Foundation effectively uplifts mankind can be seen in their mailings, which the Foundation sponsors twice per year. These mailings offer inspirational messages and insight into the work of the Foundation. And many of the people who receive them express their gratitude for the love expressed in them.
The Foundation has recently instituted a new organizational model that enables it to be even more effective. FACE stands for funding, assistance, communication and education. These four areas focus the efforts of everyone within the organization from the Board of Directors to the field representatives. This focus enhances the purpose and outcomes of the Foundation. It is based on love for mankind, and is the inspiration for the new logo and tag line, "The FACE of Caring."
The modern example of The Principle Foundation is born of the experiences that have led to its present form. The Foundation has grown and adapted by applying ideas of true service and benevolence, since being founded by Walter LaSalle. In the late 1950's, Mr. LaSalle started what is today The Principle Foundation because he wished to give a gift of gratitude to the community for the healings and blessings that Christian Science brought to his life. Throughout the years, the Foundation has been led through prayers to respond to current expressions of need with contemporary expressions of everlasting supply. What hasn't changed in the forty-four year history of the organization are the metaphysical realities that it demonstrates. And that makes the future as bright and exciting for the Foundation as it does for those who benefit from its activity.
Since November of last year the Foundation has sponsored a major conference where participants from all over the United States came to Kansas City to participate in three days of inspiration, Biblical workshops and fellowship. The Foundation has also traveled to Indianapolis, Chicago, throughout Southern California and the Pacific Northwest including Washington and Oregon. At each stop participants heard healing messages, learned about the activity of the Foundation and discovered new ways of looking at what it means to serve mankind.
The information age is underway and the Foundation is responding. Those seeking local and national information on Christian Science organization, events, jobs and announcements can log on to www.principlefoundation.org and get the latest information: information that can help them meet a need, or supply a service. This new focus of activity represents, for the Foundation, receptivity to new ideas and new opportunities to serve. It's this kind of openness and responsiveness that is not only the present, but the future of The Principle Foundation.
The Principle Foundation relies on the commitment of the Christian Science community. Because of its pledge to improving mankind, rather than simply focusing on funding issues, the Foundation is a perfect opportunity for many to contribute financially, metaphysically and with their time. The Principle Foundation is very open to all those who wish to contribute, and they welcome inquiries.
